The Sweet Melissa Sundays recipe choice this week was Hazelnut Truffles. They were very easy to make. Just melt chocolate, add cream and ground hazelnuts, refrigerate, and form into balls. Not time consuming, not difficult. I LOVE recipes like this!
The only problem for me came from eating them. They are good, but way too rich for my liking. Which is weird, because I would definately consider myself a chocoholic. Plus, Nutella is my favorite food in the entire world, so I thought a Hazelnut Truffle would be right up my alley.
Oh well... not every recipe can be a favorite. But, if you are in the mood for amazingly yummy, rich chocolate, make these.
Thanks to Annie of Living Life Foodcariously for hosting this week. The recipe can be found at her blog.

What did you end up covering these with?
They look really good!

Yummy! Although I must admit I am surprised you didn't love these - because you are a Nutella maven!
Well, they look terrific!! Sorry to hear they were too rich. I actually haven't made mine yet and I suspect they'll be too rich for me too.
Everytime I make truffles I'm reminded how easy they are too make and wonder why I don't make them more often. Your truffles look great.
Nina- I covered them with ground hazelnuts. :)
I'm already planning my Christmas baking list and I'm putting this recipe on the list right now.
The look great! I like the dusting of ground hazelnuts.
Aw, sorry you didn't totally love em! I agree - I loved how they were so super easy and quick to assemble.
Yours are great looking! I think I needed to ground my nuts finer like yours!
I used 1 bar of 85% cocoa chocolate and the rest with a really low cocoa solid content and this really counterbalanced the richness of the truffles!
Yours look beautiful.

The truffles look beautiful! How did you get the hazelnuts ground so finely? I always worry that I will turn nuts into paste if I grind them too long.
Seeing all these yummy truffles makes me wish I was a chocoholic!

Sorry that these weren't a favorite. They look delicous!
These look awesome, nicely done. I hear you on too rich, I find that is the case with a lot of chocolate -although I am oddly a new lover of chocolate.
These were very rich but so worth it! Your truffles look great.
Your truffles are beautiful, sorry they weren't a favorite... Unfortunately, I have had no trouble eating mine...
Margot- I wish I could take credit for the finely ground nuts, but I purchased a bag of ground hazelnuts from the German market. :)
Hi Cristine!
Sorry the taste of these didn't knock your socks off and live up to expectation. But they surely look beautiful! I love those colorful mini-cupcake papers too!
I'm super excited to be hosting SMS this week, and I really hope you will bake along with me- it just wouldn't be the same without you! Hope you're doing well, and I look forward to talking to you again soon. Have a great rest of your week :)

Truffles, in general, are far too chocolaty for me, but yours do look lovely!
Definitely rich- I could only eat a half at a time.
