SMS: Orange Scented Scones

It's no secret that I love scones. I make them so often and enjoy them so much! I was happy that a scone recipe was chosen for this week. I love any chance I get to try a new scone recipe!

These scones were different than others I have made because of the homemade oat flour. The recipe calls for ground oatmeal. I loved what it did for the texture of these scones. The orange flavor was subtle, but definately there. Overall, these were good scones and I will definately make them again. Hmmmm.... maybe with the addition of mini chocolate chips. YUM!

Thanks to Robin of Lady Craddock's Bakery for hosting this week. The recipe can be found at her blog.

I liked these too. The recipe was easy and the scones tasted incredible. They didn't last but 2 days in my house. I want to make them again right now! I just made a Praline Apple bread that is to die for too! SO many recipes and so little time!:)

I have never made scones, so I was looking forward to this. The orange was subtle, but I could taste it.

I think the added oatmeal makes this "healthy"! :) Or at least I'll tell myself that when I try it. Your scones look great....on my "to make" list now!

LOL, as soon as I saw your header I started smiling thinking you'd have been happy with this recipe.

Hope all is well! Will we be seeing a post on Anya's visit with Mickey, Minnie, and all the Disney Princesses?

I think if we took a vote chocolate chips would win for an "add in". Glad you enjoyed the scones and thanks for baking along with me this week!

They look great, I'm glad you enjoyed your first oat scones. I resisted adding chocolate chips to mine since I had done it the week before, they're just so good in everything!
