TWD: No gingerbread, but how about some scones?

This week's TWD selection was Fresh Ginger and Chocolate Gingerbread chosen by Heather of Sherry Trifle. I'm not the biggest gingerbread fan. I mean, I'll eat a gingerbread man, but this recipe really didn't call out to me. Plus, it's only me here and I have given away so many sweets lately that I didn't want to make a recipe that may have gone to waste. So... I am taking another miss and will be sitting this recipe out. But, still check out the blogroll and Heather's blog for the recipe!

Now I didn't want to leave y'all empty handed, so I have a past TWD recipe for you. Like I said yesterday, I have been on a scone and muffin kick and I have been meaning to try the Apple Cheddar Scones for a while now. I finally got around to making them and I really enjoyed them. If you are a fan of apples & cheddar and a fan of scones, give these a try! You won't be disappointed.

Apple Cheddar Scones were chosen by Karina of The Floured Apron and the recipe can be found at her blog.

Those scones are amazing! I LOVED them! Good throwback! But seriously, I'm not a gingerbread fan either. But this cake changed me. Do make it if you can bring yourself to it! You won't be sorry!

You look so pretty in your profile pic! Awwwww. Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah . . no gingerbread is cool with me. I love the scones. You are coming over later with them, right? I'll make the tea! Whoo hoo!

I didn't make those because I was too chicken. I love apples, and I love cheddar, but I just couldn't wrap my brain around putting the two together. Maybe one of these days I'll give it a try.

Scones are one of favorite things to bake. (Hence the name of my blog.) I do want to try these too, someday. Yours look perfect.

Haven't made the scones yet, but they sounds so good. I am a biscuit eater for sure. Breakfast is good for your tummy. Anyway, no worries about that gingerbread bakin going on. Thanks for the scones.

good idea to make the scones, they are certainly a lot lighter than the gingerbread! glad you liked them.

Those look yummy. Maybe I should have tried something different as well. I'm not too fond of how the Ginger Chocolate bread tastes.

I wanted to tell you last week that your trifles looked tremendous! I tried posting a comment, but it wouldn't post. For some reason, I often have difficulties getting my comments to post on you blog!

Apple cheddar scones sound really good! I love grilled cheese sandwiches with apple slices and these scones sound like a perfect snack or breakfast.
