Homemade Taco Seasoning

I am having trouble finding anything to write this morning. I don't know why, but here I sit, thinking and thinking about what to write. I have a ton of posts to get up and yet I can't find the words to say anything about the recipes.

I figured taco seasoning would be a great one to post on a day where I have nothing to say. :) I know a lot of people buy the packets from the store but this is so easy and you can bottle it up and keep it on hand. Plus, it's a good recipe to have even if you don't want to always make your own. This way, if you forget to buy a packet at the store, you can just make it yourself!

Have a great Monday!

Homemade Taco Seasoning

2 TBSP chili powder

5 tsp paprika

4 1/2 tsp cumin

3 tsp onion powder

2 1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

Mix all ingredients together. Recipe makes 21 teaspoons. 7 teaspoons equals one storebought taco seasoning packet.

We all have those days Cristine! You'll come around, promise! ;) BTW, I love homemade seasonings like this much more than the premade packets that are full of sodium!

This will be good to have on hand because there has been a number of times that I have fogotten to buy taco seasoning. Making it would be no problem because I keep all those spices on hand.
p.s. I am surpised you can think to written anything that early in the morning.

This kind of recipe is so welcomed by me! The ingredients tend to be fresher and more pungent when I put them together myself. This is a great recipe to have on hand. Thanks for sharing.

Anything homemade is much better than store bought. Especially those insipid seasoning packets. You recipe is very thorough. Wonderful flavor profile. Cheers!
